Dear IAN Families,

We are working to improve our parent training and cultural awareness surrounding adopting from Ethiopia. We have completed our new general and cultural sensitivity which is now available to you for FREE! This is a great training which includes information on many different topics including; the adoption process, staff roles in the US vs. Ethiopia, the average day in the care center, an adoptive parents journey, Ethiopian culture etc.
This training is required for all families. It does not take too long and can be completed in multiple sittings. Please find this training on our website at under the parent training tab, under session V or http://www.adoptioninternational.net/train/index.php. Please contact your coordinator for the password. Please complete the final questionaire and return to your coordinator for credit. We have had a few families complete this training so far and we have heard great feedback. If you have any questions, please contact your coordinator!!
There will also be an older child adoption webinar starting in September. This will be a live, 2 hour training required for families adopting children over age 2. The first two webinar dates will be announced soon (expected dates 9/21 and 9/25).
We hope these trainings will help you throughout your adoption and after coming home!! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us! Have a great day!

This great opportunity is for ALL IAN families. Although some of the information will be repetitive for those of you already on the wait list or with referrals, we really think it will benefit everyone in the process of adopting.
